45th MPOC Class Date set |

MPTC Executive Director, Dan Zivkovich announced that the location for the next MPTC Basic Recruit Academy will be the Western Mass. Academy. The start date for this class is March 15, 2010 with an anticipated graduation date of Wednesday, August 4, 2010. It is my understanding that March 15 is a firm date with no “float” status.
While our new building will not be ready for occupancy until May 1, we have been able to make some adjustments to our schedule to accommodate this recruit class.
Applications should be submitted to Lynda Kearns at MPTC HQ (6 Adams Street, Randolph, MA 02368). All forms are available on the MPTC website (www.state.ma.us/mptc).
Just a heads up on a few items:
- The equipment list posted on the MPTC website is incomplete. I will be distributing an updated list soon.
- Departments will need to provide their S.O. with a police vehicle for EVOC Training (early April)
- All Student Officers must have a license to carry to enable them to transport their weapon to the range for Firewarms Training (early April). Otherwise, a member of the hiring/sponsoring agency will be required to transport the weapon to the range each day of training.
